During my recent stay at Castaway, I found its appeal lies in the balance of luxury and value. The two-bedroom apartment offered ample space, furnished with essential amenities including a fully-equipped kitchen, dining table, and comfortable sitting area. Having an electric kettle and electric blankets already made for a thoughtful touch, enhancing the guests' comfort during cooler nights. The hosts, notably welcoming, ensured a smooth check-in experience and provided a complimentary welcome drink, which was a pleasant surprise. The proximity to Strahan Harbour and local shops was ideal for those wishing to explore. Some areas do require attention. The cleanliness of the shower door surround could be improved, and the garden furniture showed signs of wear. The laundry facilities, although well-received, could benefit from an upgrade to accommodate larger groups looking to use this amenity efficiently. Ultimately, Castaway presents a compelling option for travelers seeking both comfort and access to local attractions without the extravagant price tag of more established luxury hotels. For those weighing cost against convenience, this hotel may be a wise choice in their travel plans.
